Multi-Tenant EtherPoint Auto-Login Instructions for Windows Vista

Note: In order to use 802.1x Auto-Login, Windows must be managing your wireless connections.

1) From the desktop, click on the Windows Menu and then click on the "Control Panel."

Note: If you do not see "Control Panel" click on "Settings" and then choose "Control Panel."

2) The "Control Panel" will now open, click on "Classic View" in the sidebar to continue.

3) The "Control Panel" will now be shown in classic view, click on the "Network and Sharing Center" icon to continue.

4) The "Network and Sharing Center" window will now open, click on "Manage network connections" on the sidebar to continue.

5) The "Network Connections" window will now open, right-click on "Local Area Connection" and select "Properties."

6) The "Local Area Connection Properties" dialogue will now appear, click on the "Authentication" tab to continue.

NOTE: If you do not have an "Authentication" tab, please contact your computer manufacturer about enabling the "Wired AutoConfig" service within Windows.

7) On the "Authentication" tab, verify that "Enable IEEE 802.1x Authentication" is checked. On the "Choose a network authentication method:" drop down, select "Protected EAP (PEAP)."

8) When your screen resembles the screen below, click the "Settings…" button.

9) The "Protected EAP Properties" dialogue will now open, uncheck "Validate server certificate." Place a check in "Enable Fast Reconnect." When your screen resembles the one below click "Configure.. ."

10) The "EAP MSCHAPv2 Properties" dialogue will now appear, uncheck "Automatically use my Windows logon name and password (and domain if any)." Click "OK" to continue.

11) You will be returned to the "Protected EAP Properties" dialogue, click "OK" to continue.

12) You will be returned to the "Local Area Connection Properties" dialogue, click "OK" to continue.

13) When you see the following balloon appear, click on it.

14) The "Enter Credentials" dialogue will now appear, enter your username and password that you were provided in the appropriate fields. The "Logon domain:" field should be left blank. Click on "OK" to connect.

Note: Usernames and Passwords are case-sensitive. Please be certain that your capitalization is correct.

Your computer has now been setup to automatically login using 802.1x. You are now ready to enjoy all the Internet has to offer.
