Partner in Finance

PenTeleData and Keystone Nazareth Bank and Trust (KNBT)

Part of Keystone Nazareth Bank & Trust's (KNBT) mission is to "ensure customer satisfaction by delivering unmatched personal service and providing high-quality financial products and services to meet the changing needs of individuals, families and businesses."

To make that mission possible, they need the assistance of some of today's latest technologies-including EtherPoint data transport service from PenTeleData. In order to meet their regionally increasing business needs, KNBT chose PenTeleData after careful research and analysis of their needs and available services.

Why did they choose PenTeleData? Simply put, "cost, reputation, and delivery," says Ferdinand Feola, Senior Vice President of Information Technology for KNBT.

KNBT uses their service from PenTeleData primarily to pass information and other data between different locations, ultimately speeding up their ability to conduct business and also to meet their customers' demands quickly and easily.

Being on the cutting edge of technology is important for most financial institutions these days, and KNBT is no exception. Over the years, KNBT has been able to increase their productivity through the use of "stable, cost effective" technologies such as the EtherPoint service they now utilize.

Network uptime is an important factor for businesses and organizations because if a network outage occurs, it can result in everything coming to a grinding halt. KNBT says they've been very pleased with the service they receive from PenTeleData, and when asked about reliability, Mr. Feola states that KNBT has had "100% uptime with the services provided by PenTeleData."

Another important factor for data services is of course, service and support-services are only as reliable and good as the support for them. KNBT's Ferdinand Feola says that he's found PenTeleData's staff to be both knowledgeable and helpful "in service and sales, providing reliable quotes on demand with personal follow-up."

"We have received nothing but the highest quality of service and support from everyone at PenTeleData," adds Mr. Feola, "the EtherPoint service we receive has proven to be an invaluable tool for us cutting down on our need to deal with service related issues in turn allowing us to concentrate on what's really important, our customers."

Nearly every business and organization that depends on technology to improve their ability to conduct business and increase customer satisfaction has a plan to implement further technology to meet these needs in the future.

Their future networking strategy includes additional controls over the traffic on their network as well as reducing overall networking-related costs. In accordance with those plans is their main technology-related goal for the future: to increase overall efficiency, helping KNBT make their vision of "delivering unmatched, personal service and value to our customers, employees, community and shareholders," a permanent reality.

With a shared commitment to the communities we serve, Keystone Nazareth Bank & Trust and PenTeleData are working together to provide valuable financial services built on dedicated, reliable technology.

Mail Server switch-over deadline fast approaching-Switch to PenTeleData's Enhanced Promail server today!

Back in July of 2004, we first announced our newest e-mail server-called Promail. In those announcements we notified you that in July of 2006, our existing mail servers would be taken offline and Promail would become the main e-mail server for all PenTeleData e-mail accounts. July of 2006 is rapidly approaching, and we want to remind you to make the switch, and also explain how the new Promail server will ultimately benefit you.

No one likes to receive a lot of spam, so PenTeleData's Promail server actually prevents the relaying of spam e-mail through the server. How? Promail verifies that the person trying to send the e-mail is a valid PenTeleData customer. This just means that a username and password is required to send e-mail. You will notice in the instructions to switch to Promail plus you are asked to configure your e-mail software to provide your PenTeleData username and password in order to send messages as well as receive them.

Along with the spam, Promail also prevents viruses and spyware from connecting to the mail server to send out copies of themselves and spam messages. This will also cut down on the number of complaints PenTeleData receives for spam e-mails being sent from our servers, and will mean less blacklisting of PenTeleData's servers and fewer problems sending e-mail for our customers!

In addition, PenTeleData customers using the Promail server may send e-mail from anywhere using the PenTeleData server. Prior to Promail, the only way to send e-mail from outside the PenTeleData network was to use the web-based e-mail system on www.ptd.net Now, because Promail's only requirement to send e-mail is a valid username and password, you can send e-mail from anywhere, regardless of whose network or Internet connection you're using.

Finally, a few lesser-known benefits to Promail include SSL encrypted transmissions for both sending and receiving e-mail and verification of senders' e-mail addresses. This means that you can secure your connections for both receiving and sending e-mail, and Promail will verify that the sender's e-mail address is a valid address.

With all the added benefits and protections offered by PenTeleData's new Promail server, there's no reason to wait until the last minute to make the switch! All it takes is to change a few settings in your e-mail software to take advantage of all these new features.

For instructions to change your e-mail settings to use Promail, please visit: http://www.ptd.net/support/e-mail/chg_smtp.html or call PenTeleData Technical Support at 800.804.5783. Technical Support is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for your convenience. Don't wait until July - switch to Promail today!
