In order to ensure that available bandwidth on the DOCSIS network is utilized as efficiently as possible, customers wishing to use their own modem with the PenTeleData broadband service must meet certain minimum requirements.
These requirements apply to PenTeleData commercial broadband customers only:
The modem must be certified for DOCSIS 3.1 operation with 32 x 8 channel bonding in DOCSIS 3.0 mode and 2 x 2 OFDM in DOCSIS 3.1 mode.
The device must be a DOCSIS modem/bridge only, such as the Arris Surfboard SB8200. DOCSIS devices with built-in router or access point functionality are not supported.
If you are unsure whether or not a given modem is supported, please contact your sales representative or the PenTeleData Network Control Center. Modems that do not meet this requirement cannot be registered with the service.
